Get ready for razor-sharp wit, outrageous misunderstandings and gloriously tangled romance with The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde's celebrated comedy masterpiece.
Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff are respectable gentlemen. At least, that's what they would like everyone to believe. In reality, both have invented elaborate alter egos to escape the expectations of polite society - and their deceptions work perfectly well until love gets involved.
Jack is hopelessly devoted to the sophisticated Gwendolen Fairfax, while Algernon quickly falls for Jack's spirited young ward, Cecily Cardew. There is just one problem: both women are absolutely determined to marry a man named Ernest.
What follows is a whirlwind of secret identities, romantic rivalry, unexpected revelations and perfectly timed chaos, presided over by the formidable Lady Bracknell - one of theatre's most iconic comic creations.
Written with Wilde's unmistakable flair for dazzling dialogue and wicked observation, The Importance of Being Earnest is elegant, eccentric and irresistibly funny, proving that love, lies and social respectability are a dangerous combination.
Come and discover why being Earnest has never been quite so complicated.
