The Ronnie Jones Trio With Simon Spillett

About

Drummer Ronnie Jones brings his Devon-based trio to 12 Bar and Social, featuring special guest Simon Spillett - one of Britain's most prominent jazz figures, marking 30 years on the UK jazz scene.

A tenor saxophonist with a powerful, straight-ahead style rooted in the great jazz tradition, Simon has sold out the country's finest jazz clubs including Ronnie Scott's, headlined virtually every major UK festival including the EFG London Jazz Festival, and picked up a string of awards along the way - among them Top Tenor Saxophone at the British Jazz Awards and Services to British Jazz.

His big band album Dear Tubby H. earned a five-star review in Jazzwise, and his acclaimed biography of his hero Tubby Hayes cemented his reputation as the leading authority on British jazz.

Ronnie is joined by Will Butterworth on piano and Jim Rintoul on bass - some of the finest jazz musicians in the South West.

An evening of world-class, straight-ahead jazz. Don't miss it.
