Bity Booker doesn't just perform songs-she casts them.
Armed with classical guitar and a voice that sounds like it stepped out of a myth, this Thanet and London-based folk musician and visual artist crafts wistful, nature-steeped songs full of animals, dreams, ghosts and forest whispers. Her new album There's No Song About a Stone landed in June '26 to critical acclaim, and this is her first time bringing it to Exeter.
As one reviewer noted: "It stands apart from the regular singer-songwriter crowd thanks to its ethereal detachment, its deep connection to the natural world, its refusal to sand down the oddities that make it breathe."
Booker's songwriting exists at expert level-she knows exactly where to stop to retain the simplicity and power of her songs. Warm, gentle, beguiling, and unexpectedly strange. A performance that will stay with you.
