About

Critically acclaimed pianist Will Butterworth leads a dynamic piano trio celebrated for its melodic, swinging and adventurous approach to contemporary jazz. Joined by Marcus Vergette on bass and Preston Prince on drums, the trio reimagines jazz standards and gems from the Great American Songbook with rich harmony, lyrical improvisation and propulsive rhythms.

Drawing comparisons to modern jazz greats while rooted in the timeless tradition of the piano trio, their performances balance virtuosity with warmth and accessibility. The trio’s music is regularly featured on Jazz FM and BBC Radio 3, earning praise from critics including The Jazzmann, who described Butterworth as “a brilliant pianist” with “stunning displays of virtuosity,” while The Guardian called the trio “thrilling... fresh and immediate.”

Expect beautiful melodies, inventive interplay and world-class contemporary jazz performed with energy, elegance and soul.
