From family friendly festivals and Quayside activities to community events and markets, there's something for everyone, and they're all absolutely FREE to enjoy this summer.
Summer at the Quayside
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday throughout August
If you're at a loose end for some school summer holiday fun, that won't break the bank, then here's the perfect answer. Summer at the Quayside returns with a jam-packed programme of fun, free, and quirky activities for all the family. There's no booking needed either, simply turn up at the Transit Shed and enjoy!
Jazz on the Quay
Sunday 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st August
Lazy Sunday afternoons and laid back jazz grooves, this is what summer is all about. Get in the swing as Jazz on the Quay comes to Exeter's Historic Quayside, providing your soundtrack to the summer.
Silent Book Club

If you struggle to find some quality reading time then the Silent Book Club offers the perfect bit of escapism. It's entirely your choice what book to bring as you join up with likeminded book fans to quietly read as a collective. After an hour of reading there's some optional socialising and a great opportunity to get some recommendations from fellow readers.
Love Local Food Festival
Saturday 9th August
Bringing a taste of the countryside to Exeter city centre, the family-friendly Love Local Food Festival comes to the historic Exeter Castle, and it's absolutely free with no tickets required. Feast on a variety of local street-food vendors along with live music, a traditional bar, al fresco cocktails, children's activities and more.
Quayside Farmers Market
Saturday 16th August
Fresh produce, artisan treats, and handmade crafts, come down and support your favourite local farmers, growers, and bakers at the monthly Quayside Farmers Market. Showcasing an incredible selection of traders, if you ask nicely you might even get to try a few samples.
Princesshay Fan Zone
From 22nd August
The Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 comes to Exeter this summer and Princesshay is home to the official tournament Fan Zone. If you can't make it to Sandy Park for the big games then join us in the city centre, where all of the matches will be screened live on a big outdoor screen. Sit back, relax and soak up the action from the comfort of a bean bag or deck chair, and treat yourself to some refreshments from a pop-up bar and choice of street vendors.
Exeter Street Arts Festival
Saturday 30th August
Join us for an eclectic mix of street performers, musicians, DJ's and artists at the Exeter Street Arts Festival. Over 50 artists are set to perform across the city throughout the day and the party continues at Exeter Phoenix with the official Exeter Street Arts Festival Afterparty - a night of high-energy global grooves and dancefloor unity, right in the heart of the city!
