Silent Book Club

Wednesday 5th and Monday 17th November

Autumn is the perfect season to curl up with a good book, and what better way than in the company of fellow readers. Join the Silent Book Club at Topsham Brewery for their bi-monthly sessions and enjoy a relaxed space down on the Quayside. Bring your own book, grab a drink, and enjoy uninterrupted reading time in great company. 

Night Fighters of Exeter

Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November

A free exhibition, 'Night Fighters, the Story of 307 Squadron' is being held at Exeter’s historic Guildhall. Honouring the Polish 307 Squadron who defended Exeter during the Second World War, the exhibition includes squadron memorabilia and unique film featuring interviews with squadron members who served in the only Polish night fighter squadron of the war.

Quayside Farmers Market

Saturday 15th November

A true highlight of Exeter’s thriving food scene, support your favourite local farmers, and meet the makers, bakers and growers at the monthly Quayside Farmers Market. Set against the historic and picturesque quay, treat your taste buds to the region’s freshest, seasonal flavours and finest local produce.

Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market

From 20th November

Exeter Cathedral’s much-loved Christmas Market returns this month, transforming Cathedral Green into a festive wonderland. You don't have to spend a penny and in fact it's quite a lovely experience just losing yourself amongst the twinkling chalets filled with gifts, crafts, and seasonal offerings. We won't judge you if you can't resist the tempting food and drink aromas though - everyone deserves a little festive treat! 

Princesshay 

Spreading lots of festive joy to visitors, Princesshay will be bringing a warm, welcoming and magical atmosphere in the run up to Christmas. To celebrate the start of festive late night shopping, SPARK drummers will be entertaining crowds at 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm on Thursday 20th November.

Fore Street Flea

Sunday 23rd November

With Christmas fast approaching you definitely won't want to miss the festive edition of the much-loved Fore Street Flea. Full of community and seasonal cheer, browse amongst the treasure trove of unique gifts, pre-loved clothing, handmade crafts, and delicious local treats. Live entertainment and a joyous atmosphere make the Flea a perfect way to spend a Sunday in the West Quarter, and experience a Christmas market with a difference.  

RAMM

Whether you’re seeking a family day out, quiet reflection, or creative spark, November is a wonderful ideal time to explore Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM). Explore award-winning galleries filled with art, archaeology, and fascinating objects from around the world, alongside treasures telling Exeter’s own story. From ancient history to contemporary exhibitions, come and explore for free this month. 

Red Coat Guided Tours

Exeter’s Red Coat Guided Tours are now on their winter tours programme but there's still lots of fascinating way to explore our city’s rich history, for free! Led by knowledgeable volunteer guides in their distinctive red coats, these tours run year-round and cover themes from Roman Exeter to medieval marvels, secret passages, and stories of rebellion. There's no need to book, simply turn up and join a walk through centuries of heritage. It’s the perfect opportunity to uncover Exeter’s hidden gems while enjoying an engaging, informative experience from the local experts.

Please note, the winter tours programme runs until 31st March 2026.

Taking place on Exeter's Cathedral Green, the Cathedral Christmas Market is wonderfully atmospheric, set among a labyrinth of winding paths, festooned with fairy lights and laced with the seasonal sights and smells of festive chalets, showcasing a wide range of local, regional, national and international suppliers, offering crafts and gifts, and seasonal food and drink.
