There's lots of great attractions and activities in Exeter, that won't break the bank, and will keep the kids entertained this February half-term.

From indoor activities at the RAMM to getting out and about in the wild at Haldon Forest Park, we've put together some ideas that are small on cost, some are even free, but big on fun, fun, fun!

RAMM

Free to enter and perfect for those inevitable wet weather days, there's never a dull moment at RAMM with all their fantastic, fun activities this half-term.

Discover incredible art that brings science to life, with RAMM's latest exhibition - Wow! Amazing Science in Children’s Books. This free, family-friendly exhibition brings together vibrant artwork and surprising facts to investigate the wonders of the world around us.

17th February - Look at me! Felt badge craft activity (£3.50 drop in)

18th February - Changing faces - Who do you want to be today? (Free, drop in)

19th February - Musical Moments Around the World (£5.50 per child)

Red Coat Guided Tours

Exeter's Red Coat Guided Tours take you on a journey of discovery around the city and make for a great way to learn about Exeter's history, for free. Tours include 'Medieval Exeter', 'Ghosts and Legends', 'Exeter's Historic Quayside' and many more to choose from. Taking place daily, children are welcome although under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

Underground Passages

Discover Exeter’s Underground Passages this February half term for an affordable family adventure. Step beneath the city streets to explore medieval tunnels, uncover fascinating stories and spark young imaginations. With guided tours, hands-on history and great value tickets, it’s a memorable day out that won’t break the bank. 

Bookworms at Devon and Exeter Institution

The Devon and Exeter Institution hosts a 'Bookworms Juniors Members' Club which takes place on the third Saturday of each month (21st February), from 10.30am to 12pm. Aimed at 5 to 8 year olds, taster sessions are free and annual membership is only £12. Open to all, free tours and a drop in visit around the Institution also take place every Wednesday, from 1pm to 4pm. 

Haldon Forest Park

There's a wonderful natural playground just waiting to be explored at Haldon Forest Park this half term. Enjoy woodland walks, cycle trails, play areas and wildlife spotting, with plenty of space to explore. Fresh air, adventure and simple fun make it an ideal, low-cost half-term day out that the whole family will love, including any four-legged friends.
