Sound Gallery Studios is the longest-standing professional recording studio in Exeter run by artist-led social enterprise Sound Gallery CIC, nestled in the basement of Exeter Phoenix in the cultural heart of the city.

Sound Gallery Studios has gained its reputation as one of the most productive, well equipped and capable studios in Devon boasting in its client list emerging and high profile musicians and bands, recording artists, actors, music publishers, record labels, TV channels, radio stations, educational establishments, film production companies, theatre groups and arts organisations locally, nationally and internationally.

Our services include recording and music production services for emerging and established musicians and bands, sound design, audiobooks & voiceover recordings, music technology tuition, enrichment programmes for young people, music industry advice sessions in association with Integrity Records and training.

Over the past 5 months the creative team at Sound Gallery studios has been working hard behind the scenes to create new opportunities for artists and musicians whose livelihoods have been impacted by the pandemic.

Virtual MainStage is a new video music channel hosted by Sound Gallery in association with hungersleep records and Integrity records to help musicians, bands and singer-songwriters to reignite their careers. Virtual Mainstage will showcase New Releases and Music Videos from these independent record labels and Live Sessions from Sound Gallery Studios which will be promoted on Sound Gallery’s Youtube & IGTV channels. Virtual MainStage will also feature Behind the Scenes industry and studio sessions alongside insightful interviews and anecdotes with experts in a variety of creative roles, including music publishers, artist managers, recording artists, label managers, music producers, engineers and more.

As part of Virtual MainStage we are inviting solo artists, musicians and bands to perform short live sets which will be recorded and filmed at the newly revamped Studio 2 using our professional facilities operated by Sound Gallery’s music production team and Wiseman Productions.

We are also very excited to announce that Nick Tarbitt, co-founder of Integrity Records, one of the U.K.’s longest running truly independent record labels and known for finding & nurturing new talent, is delivering Music Industry Advice sessions as part of our educational programmes: SiMPTI Digital & Raptors.

These initiatives are part of Sound Gallery’s Digital Future programme and have been made possible thanks to the Culture Recovery Fund which aims to support Sound Gallery to face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure we have a sustainable future as a culturally significant organisation locally, nationally and internationally.
