The Bear Trail

The Bear Trail is an award winning family muddy army assault course designed to get everyone enjoying good old-fashioned fun in the great outdoors – whatever the weather.

Based between Exeter and Cullompton in Devon, the attraction features over 20 muddy and dry obstacles to run, jump, swing and climb over, spread across a 10 acre site.

Clamber over the bear nets, whizz down the zip wires, scramble through the tunnels – it’s a guaranteed fun and energising day out, for all the family, from toddlers to grandparents.

The obstacles are designed to be challenging yet achievable and there’s a footpath which runs alongside. There’s even a cubs’ corner for little ones aged under a year.

The trail was designed to provide children with a space to invent play and be tested so they work together and push their boundaries. We believe children should have a chance to run free out in the wild, challenge themselves mentally and physically, get wet, run and climb around in muddy fields and experience an element of risk which reflects life.

And if you get really muddy, which lots of our customers do, there are outdoor washpoints, outdoor shower and changing rooms.

Once you decide to take a break, come and grab something to eat and drink at the Bear Cave Café. We’ve got delicious stone-baked pizzas produced from scratch and cooked in our pizza oven, paninis and home-baked cakes, as well as top notch coffee. Either enjoy them outside, or in our indoor eating area.

The Bear Trail is open seven days a week during the school holidays and on the weekends during term time. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the site on a lead.

The trail is located on the B3181 from Exeter to Cullompton. It is opposite the Merry Harriers Pub in Westcott.
