Agile Rabbit - Could There Be A Planet B? With Raphaelle Haywood

About

Is Earth our only home? Recent discoveries show that Earth is one of billions of terrestrial, temperate planets and that these are more commonplace in our galaxy than we may have believed. Recent revolutionary discoveries in astronomy are showing that Earth is one of billions of planets and that terrestrial, temperate planets are commonplace in our galaxy. So, could we move to and survive on any of them?

Dr Raphaëlle D. Haywood is a Senior Lecturer in Physics and Astronomy and Assistant Director of the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter. She is an expert in detecting and characterising planets beyond our solar system, known as exoplanets. In 2019, she advised NASA and the US National Science Foundation on designing a roadmap to discover Earth-like planets over the next decade. She is joining us to share her observations of exoplanets and will provide essential context to how discoveries impact us and the challenges we face on Earth.
