Singing Workshops for 7-11 Year Olds

After the success of Big Silly Sing earlier in the year, Alibi is joining forces with Big Music Collective and Above Bounds to bring young singers another exciting series of fun and interactive singing workshops!

Led by the talented Laura Loft (Big Music Collective) and Helen Bovey (Above Bounds), these sessions are all about building confidence, exploring new styles, and having a fantastic time making music together.

This December Alibi will be throwing open the doors toThe Wintertime Hotel [https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/theatre-alibi/the-wintertime-hotel/e-ryqdkx], a brand-new immersive experience for the whole family. And we need your help creating a special winter song for all the hotel visitors! Inspired by the peculiar characters, wondrous creatures and snowy surprises to be found in this new frosty adventure, the Big Silly Sing autumn term will be spent devising, rehearsing and recording a brand-new song for audiences to hear at The Wintertime Hotel experienceall in a lively and supportive environment.

The term will run for 6 weeks, ending with two special live performances at The Wintertime Hotel on Sunday 14th December.

Laura Loft is a South West based Music Creator, Educator, Songwriter, Lyricist, Author and Performer.A storyteller, a ukulele player and a rhyming, singing and composing dweller, she set up BIG MUSIC COLLECTIVEwriting musical stories including her self-published book Big Emotions: Mindful Music For Little People and latestbook Big Dreams: Imaginative Songs.Lauras background is in Music Performance, Songwriting & Education as a facilitator, workshop leader and MusicLead delivering National Music Curriculum in Primary Schools with a focus on using music for wellbeing.

Helen Bovey(she/her) is a Devon-based Theatre-Maker and Director with over 10 years experience in creating and producing theatre. As Founder of Above Bounds Theatre Collective, Helen has developed shows such as Silly Squirrel (winner of Best of Children & Families at FUSE international 2022), Winterwood (Alibi & Angel Exit Theatre, 2024) The Snow Queen, and The Golden Penguin and The Pizza Inspector through the With Flying Colours (2019-2023). Her work, including residencies in primary schools, emphasises co-creating work with young people & communities, sparking new ideas & inspiring future productions.
