The Devon General Omnibus Trust are bringing a vintage bus to Exeter's Jubilee Street Party! The bus at the Jubilee Street Party, VDV 817, dates from 1957 and is representative of the open-platform rear-entrance AEC Regent V double-deckers purchased by Devon General for use on Exeter city services, it ran until 1971! The Devon General Omnibus Trust is a registered charity established in 2013 to carry out the restoration, preservation and operation of historic vehicles that once carried the livery of the Devon General Omnibus & Touring Company Ltd.
With six former Devon General buses in their collection, five double deckers and one single decker, the charity educates the public about Devon General by enabling people to view our buses at events and to travel on them at vintage vehicle running days. They welcome donations in support of their work - please see the website dgot.org.uk.
