About

Join us for a creative and imaginative printmaking and writing workshop inspired by the idea of messages in bottles and the stories they carry across time and tides. Guided by local printmaker Simon Ripley from Double Elephant and writer Pippa Marriot, you'll explore how words, images and ideas can travel across distance, memory and change.

Through hands-on printmaking and creative writing activities, you'll design and create your own unique message a small but meaningful expression of a thought, feeling or story you'd like to share. Along the way, well reflect on how messages connect us to one another, how creativity can capture moments of change, and how art helps us hold onto what matters most. The workshop gently touches on themes of remembrance and reflection, while remaining welcoming, accessible and full of curiosity and joy. This is a shared creative experience that celebrates connection, imagination and making together. Let your ideas drift like a bottle on the tide you never know where they might lead, who might receive them, or what new stories might begin.

Simon Ripley is a Devon based printmaker and creative facilitator and Founder Director of the Double Elephant Print Workshop. Simon specialises in community, participatory printmaking and encouraging others to find their own interpretations of life through printmaking.

Pippa Marriot is a Devon-based creative writing teacher, facilitator, and co-founder of Word Kitchen. With over 30 years of experience, she works in schools, colleges, and community settings, including projects with youth groups and bereavement
