The Story
It was a busy day at Bovey Tracey Pottery in March 1935. Business was brisk, and the popularity of Dartmoor Ware was growing as tourism boomed across Devon. However, disaster struck.

Part of the pottery manufacturing process involved creating slip from clay. A mixture of water and cleaned clay was placed in a slip tank, drawn off by tap when needed and then poured into moulds before firing in the kilns.

That day, a worker noticed a problem with the flow of slip from one of the tanks and went to investigate the opaque, muddy mixture. As he stirred the contents, a hand broke the surface.

Further inspection revealed a body submerged in the tank, and the police were called. Who was the victim? And was it a tragic accident – or something far more sinister?

The investigator gathers four suspects – each with their own secrets, and perhaps a motive – and summons them back to the Pottery to uncover the truth.

All the clues will be there to reveal the culprit – but will they be correctly pieced together? With the help of the guests present, the investigator is determined to solve the mystery before the night is over.
