DocLab present The Fastest Bicycle, the amazing story of Barney Townsend and his team as they attempt the World Human Powered Vehicle land speed record at Battle Mountain Nevada (which stands at an eye watering 89.5 mph). Think Cool Runnings meets F1 Drive to Survive.
This extraodinary and triumphant documentary follows Barney (Sir Roger Bannister’s grandson) and his dedicated team as they stop at nothing to reach thier goal. Even a missing bike, high speed crashes, and serious design flaws cn't stop them.
It's a story of perseverance beyond limits and of community, as the team discover that their competitors can also be their greatest allies.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
