Switch off, slow down and spend an evening properly listening to music.
The Listening Club is a collaboration between Alright Mate? and 12 Bar Music & Social, bringing people together for a shared deep-listening experience. We'll choose one mystery album, reveal it on the night, then play it from beginning to end on vinyl, with no interruptions, background noise or distractions.
Once the record finishes, there'll be time to stay for a drink, chat about what you've heard and share your thoughts with others if you'd like to. There's no pressure to join the conversation, simply coming along and listening is enough. Come on your own or with friends, put your phone away for a couple of hours and enjoy an album as it was meant to be heard.
This event is part of the Alright Mate? Festival, a programme of creative and social events opening up conversations around men's mental health and wellbeing as part of the wider Movember campaign. You'll see plenty of conversation around men's mental health online throughout Movember, but these events offer a chance to experience that conversation in person, meet others and make it feel a little more real.
About Alright Mate?
Alright Mate? is an award-winning Devon arts organisation using creativity to normalise conversations about men's mental health. By bringing artists, local organisations and communities together, they create welcoming opportunities for men to connect, share experiences and seek support before reaching crisis point.
