Explore Indoors in Exeter: Summer at Exeter Barnfield Theatre

Situated in the heart of the city, Exeter’s Barnfield Theatre is housed in a beautiful late Victorian building and is finally ready to welcome back visitors after months of being closed.

Thanks to Exeter City Council and the Arts Council funding, the theatre was able to weather the Covid storm and will soon be opening its doors to the public once more, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Summer at the Barnfield

Our team have worked hard to ensure the Barnfield will be safe for you to visit, with extra cleaning regimes, 2 metre social distancing, plenty of hand sanitiser, and covid aware policies in place. You’ll need to wear a face mask and please use the QR code for the NHS Test and Trace app. Our well-trained staff are ready to assist you throughout your visit.

The Barnfield is available to hire right now – with spaces ranging from £17.50 per hour we can provide the ideal solution for your business meeting, class or workshop needs.

We are very excited to have a programme of wonderful shows lined up, with music from the Julie July Band, Floyd in the Flesh ( Pink Floyd Tribute) and One Vision – a tribute to the hit musical We Will Rock You, with an added bonus of Stand and Deliver, the music of Adam and the Ants. And on the subject of musicals, Clyst Vale school are currently hard at work preparing for their July production of Bonnie and Clyde.

In August, local production company Hot Rock Productions will bring family fun with their fabulous pantomime Alice in Wonderland. Great for kids of all ages this popular panto is sure to delight.

And there is a twist in the tale, for in the evening the family panto morphs into an hilarious adults only version – have you ever wondered what mischief and mayhem the cast would get up to if there weren’t children in the audience? Well now you can find out!
