The Foodies Festival landed at Escot Park between 16th-18th September, promising street food stalls, culinary demonstration, music acts and more across the weekend.

We paid a visit to the scrumptious new festival to hit the region - check out what we got up to...

Irresistible street food

It's not a 'foodies festival' without food! The festival certainly didn't disappoint when it came to yummy stands. From Mexican, Thai, Chinese, English, Italian and many more - it took us a while to choose which country to narrow our decision down to, let alone the dish! We weren't disappointed with our halloumi fries and chicken wrap with avocado, it was DELISH.

Culinary masterclasses

When Foodies Festival said they had masterclasses they weren't kidding! Throughout the weekend, the schedule was packed with demonstrations including sweet and savoury baking, British classics, gluten-free and plenty of others to suit any interest. There was even a kids cookery theatre, to give your little ones an intro to the kitchen!

When we saw cider and cocktails on the drinks theatre schedule, we headed straight to that tent! We were welcomed with a friendly smile and took our seats, where we were surrounded by cider that we couldn't wait to try. Tom Surgey gave an interesting insight into the history of Maison Sassy's cider and talked us through as we tasted each bottle. Just call us cider connoisseurs!

Fun family activities

If you found the time within your busy foodie schedule across the weekend, there's a chance for visitors to hop on a ride or two at the fun fair! Around the corner was an axe throwing activity, perfect for the older kids and adults. The festival wasn't short of entertainment for the entire family.

Cosy VIP area

If you fancied a little luxury during your weekend, ticket holders had the chance to purchase a VIP ticket which gave you a glass of fizz on arrival, complimentary refreshments and priority entry into the culinary masterclasses!

Catchy tunes

Great food, a buzzing atmosphere and an exciting music line-up - what more could you want on a sunny weekend? On Friday, Five and East 17 performed live. The rest of the weekend saw headliners Simon Webbe and Antony Costa from Blue and Scouting For Girls!

Keep your eyes peeled for new dates, as the Foodies Festival is set to return next year!
