Come & Sing Choral Workshop - Carmina Burana
Join us for an inspiring full day choral workshop as we explore Carl Orffs thrilling Carmina Burana. Experience the power and drama of this iconic masterpiece in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere - perfect for singers of all backgrounds.
The day will be led by Exeter Philharmonic Choirs Director of Music, Howard Ionascu, with piano accompaniment from its Assistant Director of Music, Stephen Tanner.
Throughout the singing sessions, youll benefit from practical vocal guidance and musical insights, shared with over 150 fellow music enthusiasts. There will be regular refreshment breaks, giving you the chance to unwind and socialise. In the morning, young singers from the Devon County Junior Choir will rehearse separately, before joining the main workshop later to perform the Ragazzi chorus and other sections with all participants. In the afternoon, the thrill of singing this work will be enhanced by the addition of a second piano and percussion ensemble.
The day will conclude with an informal concert, which family and friends are warmly invited to attend, free of charge. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience music that will be performed in concert on Saturday 21 November alongside the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in the University of Exeter Great Hall. Come and be part of something extraordinary!
