Dumnonii Consort at 'Music on the Mount'
Performing at St Michael & All Angels as part of the highly-anticipated 'Music on the Mount' classical music series, this eight-part vocal ensemble founded in 2023 by artistic director Matthew Jeffrey comprises high-calibre professional singers based in Exeter, many associated with the Cathedral choir and performing across the UK and internationally. Their repertoire spans the full sweep of classical vocal music, from the intricacy of early polyphony to the present day, and their performances are widely praised for their beauty, emotional depth, and commanding ensemble presence. Taking its name from the ancient Celtic tribe who inhabited Devon and Cornwall, the Consort brings a strong sense of regional identity to everything they do, performing at Exeter Cathedral, Exeter University Chapel, and this spring at Buckfast Abbey.
Programme:
- Anon: Requiem aeternum
- Philip Moore: Prayers of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
- John Taverner: Funeral Ikos
- James MacMillan: Miserere
- Victoria: Missa de defunctis a6
