A shape-shifting transmission of cosmic synths, lo-fi ambience and interdimensional performance art - live from Pennsylvania.
For nearly 25 years, Human Host has been amazing and confusing audiences through an ever-changing collision of experimental pop, lo-fi electronics, ambient sound and multimedia performance.
The project arrives at 12 Bar as part of its first UK tour, supporting the new album For an Unknown Sign - Human Host’s first internationally distributed release and first full-length vinyl LP.
For this solo incarnation, co-founder Mike Apichella reworks the group’s instrumental compositions and improvisations using Casio synthesizer, harmonica, drum machine and effects processors. Original visuals, performance art and dramatic interpretations of cosmic poetry complete a show that sits somewhere between an experimental concert, an imaginary broadcast and a transmission from another dimension.
The Bronx Times described Human Host as “*a tranquil odyssey through the deepest recesses of imagination.”*
