Solidaritea Workshop

About

Solidaritea is a two hour workshop, exploring the relationship between solidarity and hospitality led by Sonia Rashid and Yara El-Sherbini. Sonia is a yoga therapist and teacher, and is involved in many community based initiatives in Exeter, with a focus on women's health and wellbeing. Yara, Sonia's daughter in law, is both a solo artist and half of the artist duo YARA + DAVINA. She is passionate about the role of art within activism, and working with women.
While we actively blend two teas; one invigorating and one calming, we will speak to the needs activist women have to either energize their cause, or find moments of calm.
Women activists across different cultures and backgrounds in Exeter are at the heart of spaces of hospitality that create connections, bonds and build bridges between people and their ideas and actions.
During our workshop, we will learn about the herbs and their benefits on our health and wellbeing, similar to the effects of being welcomed in community and moments of solidarity has on our own wellbeing.
