Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff are respectable gentlemen. At least, thats what they would like everyone to believe. In reality, both have invented elaborate alter egos to escape the expectations of polite society and their deceptions work perfectly well until love gets involved.
Jack is hopelessly devoted to the sophisticated Gwendolen Fairfax, while Algernon quickly falls for Jacks spirited young ward, Cecily Cardew. There is just one problem: both women are absolutely determined to marry a man named Ernest.
What follows is a whirlwind of secret identities, romantic rivalry, unexpected revelations and perfectly timed chaos, presided over by the formidable Lady Bracknell one of theatres most iconic comic creations.
