Formed by cellist and singer-songwriter Lily Dumain and Devon-based songwriter Jamie Rudd, The Spinneys are a contemporary folk duo rooted in the musical traditions of the British Isles.
Their original songs pair vivid characters and folky imagery with lyrical melodies, while traditional tunes are reshaped through powerful two-part harmonies and arrangements for cello, guitar, mandolin and harmonica.
Moving between delicately told stories and music brimming with life, The Spinneys create the kind of intimate, absorbing performance that feels perfectly at home in the close surroundings of 12 Bar.
