About

Farewell Jamaica is a captivating and heartwarming show about home, heritage and the impact of Windrush

Written and performed by Nev Connor, this interactive solo performance follows Neville (a Jamaican veteran of World War II) as he leaves his homeland in 1940s to help rebuild Britain, the so-called Mother Country.

Nevilles journey - told with humour, storytelling, and music takes him from the warmth of Jamaica to the chilly streets of post-war Britain, from the thrill of new opportunities to the hardships of racism and displacement.

This is a show about identity, belonging, and resilience. A show about how heritage shapes our sense of self. It explores intergenerational bonds and honours the lasting impact of Windrush communities on British society.

This performance will take place in the Rougemont Room on the 2nd floor - accessible via a lift

Everyone is welcome - the show is suitable for all ages.
