Bangla Cultural Night is a community arts and cultural event celebrating the rich heritage of Bengal while bringing together people from across Exeter to experience and enjoy different cultures. The evening will feature live music and dance performances by artists from Bangladesh, India and local performers, alongside exhibitions of traditional Bengali clothing, crafts and cultural artefacts. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy authentic Bengali cuisine and explore cultural stalls hosted by other multicultural communities, including the Afghan, Filipino, Nigerian and Exeter Kerala communities.
The event is open to everyone and aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people from different backgrounds can meet, learn from one another and build meaningful connections. We expect approximately 200 attendees, including members of the public, as well as volunteers, performers, stallholders and event staff.
Organised by Baul with support from Inclusive Exeter, Bangla Cultural Night seeks to celebrate diversity, reduce social isolation, strengthen community cohesion and encourage greater appreciation of the many cultures that make Exeter a vibrant and inclusive city. The event will also provide volunteering opportunities and promote intercultural understanding through shared cultural experiences.
