Willow Bird Feeder Workshop

About

Join willow artist Jane Fletcher for this bird feeder workshop, in which you will get a feel for working with willow, and the different varieties, textures and colours, from her locally grown willows. Create a bird feeder of your choice using willow craft techniques and simple basketry skills. There will be a collection of weaves and binds to try, and the use of frames to make different shaped bird feeders to see our feathered friends though the winter. Or if you prefer your creations can also be utilised in the home and kitchen as natural decorations and hangings or make lovely gifts to give to someone aswell. Jane Fletcher is a willow artist based in Starcross, Devon who has been exploring possibilities with willow for 20 years. With a background in facilitation and supportive roles as a rural skills tutor, and therapeutic conservation and horticulture-based support worker, she is passionate about traditional crafts, nature connection and engaging others with the joy of willow.
