Come along to our adults only, after-hours night of entertainment exploring the world of the wild and our relationships with nature. Take flight to a soundtrack of classic rave music with Bird Ravers Steve Nice, Abi Cunliffe, and Miss High Leg Kick, as they interpret bird movements in an interactive “dancefloor ornithology” performance and guide you through some moves in their dance workshop. Be led to wild places by the beautiful nature inspired harmonies of Indie/Folk band Wild Fenn, who will be performing during the evening and experience pop-up performances by dancers from Exeter College, inspired by RAMM’s collection and Wild exhibition. Join artist Sarah Gillespie in conversation with our Natural Sciences curator Holly Morgenroth and Contemporary Art curator Lara Goodband, as they discuss Sarah’s beautiful drawings, which appear in Wild, highlighting the garden tiger moth’s recent, rapid decline. Sit back and listen to our collection of talks throughout the evening. David Rickwood from the Woodland Trust will outline the trust’s recent work around the environmental connections between our oceans and forests. Jack Skuse, Director of Ambios, will explore how the Sharpham Estate has encouraged nature to return through a process of rewilding over the last few years and Richard Fox from Butterfly Conservation will discuss the state of Britain’s butterflies and moths. During the evening you will be able to drop in and share your feelings in our Climate Café. A chance to listen and discuss what is on your mind regarding climate change and wider issues in the world currently. If you’re feeling creative on the night take part in our communal art installation using an array of seed pods, sticks, leaves and more in a Nature Doodle with artist Megan Dowsett. Or sit with friends and decorate a cloth butterfly, under the guidance of artist Rosy Tydeman, to take home with you. Finish your evening by dancing with friends surrounded by paintings from our collection in our popular silent disco – an experience not to be missed! Or simply relax and catch-up with friends over a drink. Book your tickets now to be sure not to miss out! Information about accessibility is available on our Access page.
