Rewilding Tour with Ambios on the Sharpham Estate

About

In April 2020, nature and conservation organisation Ambios embarked on an exciting new chapter by extending its 80 acre stewardship with an additional 50 acres of pasture on the Sharpham Estate in South Devon – land now dedicated to rewilding. This Rewilding Tour, in partnership with RAMM, will offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore this evolving landscape and learn about the transformative nature recovery work taking place here. During the tour, you’ll discover how their team has been restoring natural processes through projects such as the construction of artificial osprey nests, the introduction of pigs and ponies, and how we have welcomed back barn owls, kestrels, and other wildlife to the area. You’ll also gain insight into how the land has changed and regenerated over the years. Experience first-hand how nature is reclaiming its space and to learn more about the principles and practice of rewilding This walk will cover some undulating terrain and lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, taken at a relaxed pace. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather conditions on the day.
