A girl walks down a blossom-lined street, a knife clutched in her pocket. She's on her way to confront the man she believes killed her mother...
Batman (aka Naomis Death Show) is an interactive live storytelling piece, exploring how the entertainment industry exploits narratives of death and trauma, and how we can use live performance to create meaningful connections. The play explores the authors personal experience of parental death and bereavement, satirises the true crime genre, shares funny cat stories, takes audiences through games of Death Bingo and Serial Killer Family Fortunes, and culminates in an onstage shiva ceremony where the audience is invited to participate in a moment of communal grief.
The audience gets to choose the direction of the show, and faces their own complicity: will they choose vengeance, or mercy?
This show will take place in the Children's Library at Exeter Central Library at 7.30pm, with doors at 7pm. There will be a bar serving a range of soft drinks and alcohol. This show is 14+ due to some adult themes
