“Dancing Through Time”
The London-based duo of Beth Stone (flute/historical flutes) and Daniel Murphy (guitars/lutes/theorbo) presents a programme that showcases how music and instruments have transformed over time. Known for their on-stage chemistry and interaction, their intimate, magnetic performances exploit the fragility and versatility of their ensemble, and their concerts feature a variety of instruments that enable them to express the colours, gesture and emotions of repertoire from the medieval era through to contemporary. As two of the most expressive art forms, music and dance have been intimately linked since the beginning of time. Through their special sound palette Flutes and Frets bring to audiences all types of music on the instruments that were in use at the time of composition to lend awareness of the sounds as they would have been intended to be heard by composers of every era.
