Playwriter are a four-piece indie band from Plymouth, built around the songwriting of guitarist Leo Cunningham, alongside Tom Parker (keys), Norman Buchan (drums) and Jon Fazal (bass). Blending understated, thoughtful indie-rock with touches of easy-listening and psychedelia, the band have quickly made their mark on the local scene.
Formed in 2024, Playwriter recorded their debut EP Everyday, with singles ‘Is This It’, ‘Me and You’ and ‘Melt’ receiving airplay on BBC Introducing South West. They’ve already built a loyal following after bursting onto Plymouth’s live circuit with two packed-out shows at Leadworks and The Underground late last year. Everyday is released on 16 January 2025 on digital and CD.
