Exeter’s location in the heart of Devon is hard to forget, with glimpses of the surrounding green countryside from many parts of the city. Devonians are known for loving the outdoors, and Exeter offers plenty of opportunity to get out and enjoy a wide range of activities, from walking and cycling along the River Exe Estuary, to canoeing and kayaking along England’s oldest ship canal.

Being surrounded by fertile farmland and proximity to miles of coastline means the city’s restaurants place a strong emphasis on local produce, and the weekly farmers market gives buyers the chance to buy direct from the producers.
