We're so excited to return to our favourite restaurants this April, sitting outdoors will not stop us digging into delicious, locally-sourced grub! We've put together a list of restaurants planning to re-open for alfresco dining from 12th April - where will you visit first? 

The Lamb Inn

Dine within The Lamb Inn's gorgeous beer garden from 12th April - this friendly pub offers scrumptious sharing platters, burgers, Sunday roasts and much more with plenty of veggie options!

The Daisy Café

Yippee - The Daisy Café's ‘Secret Garden of Heavitree’ will be open from Thursday 15th April. The warm, welcoming café will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:30am-3pm. Expect locally-sourced breakfasts and lunches, great drinks and Birra Moretti on tap!

Matthews Hall Café

Visit Matthews Hall Café from 13th April for outdoor dining - this small, independent café is perfect for a pit stop whilst you're in Topsham! Here you'll enjoy home-made cakes, fantastic scones and treats, breakfasts, light lunches and fresh coffee!

Route 2 Café

From 12th April, cycling enthusiasts will be thrilled to hear that you can pick up some tasty treats from Route 2 Cafe's cycle-thru and take a moment to relax on their reserved tables along Topsham Quay!

On the Waterfront

We can't wait to indulge in dustbin lid pizzas, tapas and local beverages at On the Waterfront from 12th April! Dine outdoors within the heart of Exeter Quay, for the ultimate alfresco experience! 

River Exe Café

From 29th April, catch the ferry from Exmouth and enjoy an outdoor lunch at River Exe Café! This is the place to be for spectular views along the Exe Estuary and the freshest local seafood! The specials menu changes daily according to what is available from the market and the local fishermen, making this floating restaurant one-of-a-kind!

Rendezvous Wine Bar

Book a table at Rendezous Wine Bar, when this intimate, independent restaurant opens for outdoor dining w/c 12th April! Enjoy their special garden food & drinks menu from Wednesday through to Saturday from 12-8pm - the bar will be open until 10pm! 

Eat on the Green

Head to Eat on the Green for traditional, English dishes within the beautiful setting of our Cathedral green! From 12th April, enjoy hearty breakfasts and lunches along with evening meals until 8pm Monday-Saturday! 

No.5 Cathedral Close

Exeter's latest independent restaurant is re-opening from 12th April - with a beer garden, a secret walled garden AND their new Exeter Cathedral green terrace! This luxury restaurant and cocktail prides itself by using the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients within their exquisite menu. 

Rockfish

Book a table to enjoy fresh seafood on Rockfish's outdoor terrace! The food at this award-winning restaurant are sustainably sourced and local - often cooked within 8 hours of being caught! Book your table now, to experience this fabulous dining experience from 12th April.

Exeter Phoenix Café

From 12th April, visitors will be able to dine outside on Exeter Phoenix's cafe bar terrace! The opening hours will be:

  • Monday-Thursday: 9.30am - 11pm (food served until 7pm)
  • Friday-Saturday: 9.30am - midnight (food served until 7pm)
  • Sunday: 10am - 6pm (food served 12-5pm)

Princesshay

Princesshay Shopping Centre is a haven of popular chain restaurants! Dine outside and tuck into a Slim Chickens or Wagamama from 12th April. Athough not currently offering outdoor dining, Nandos, Slim YO!, Costa and Starbucks will be open for takeaway services – simply order, take away and enjoy on one of the many picnic benches within Princesshay Square!

Queen St Dining

You'll be spoilt for choice of dining options at Queen St Dining from 12th April! Take a break from shopping and dine alfresco at Turtle Bay, The Terrace, Comptoir Libanais, Absurd Bird, Franco Manca, Arthur's Deli, Brewdog and Pho! Visit their website for booking details, there will be additional seating in Market Square for Brewdog and Absurd Bird!
